Meaning “laughter,” in Swahili, Kicheko Goods is a social impact jewelry brand founded in 2014 by Sarah Bayot. All pieces from Kicheko are designed in D.C. and are made locally with a network of small manufacturers and special artisan partnerships from around the world.
The inspiration behind many of Kicheko’s pieces can be found in nature, and are influenced by geometry, meaningful conversations, and travel. Materials are meticulously sourced and production, finishing, and polishing takes place in their D.C. studio. A brand dedicated not only to creating stunning accessories, but also to giving back, Kichecko is highly impactful and invests in the education of under-resourced children in Congo.
Every purchase from Kicheko's collections provides a scholarship for a child to attend school. Since its founding, proceeds from Kicheko were used to help construct a 6- classroom brick school building for Mango Tree Primary School in Eastern Congo, and has funded over 2000 months of school for students to attend Mango Tree and receive a quality, foundational education. It is Kicheko's hope to continue sharing incredible designs and inspiring others to tap into the simplicity and beauty of making an impact with one purchase.
